Thank you for your faithful prayers for Melissa.  With your prayers and support, her 18th surgery went very well last Wednesday.
 
We checked in at CHOC last Wednesday (1/27) morning (7:30 a.m.), and went through all of the required pre-operation examinations.  Melissa entered surgery at 10:30 a.m., was anesthetized, and surgery began at 10:45.  The surgery lasted about two and a half hours and was completed by 1:15 p.m.  She remained in recovery until about 3:00 p.m. and then was transferred to her room. When she awoke, she felt pain but, praise the Lord, the pain gradually subsided.  Melissa was discharged Thursday afternoon. At her doctor visit on Friday everything was fine.  We will visit the doctor again this Thursday (2/4).
 
During the surgery, the doctor inserted a tiny telescope through her mouth into her throat to see the opening in her neck.  Then, he cut her neck skin about 10 cm to close the hole and stitched close the outside (please refer to attachment picture) to complete the procedure.
 
Once again, thank you for your prayers.  Please continue to pray for her next surgeries to close the G-tube hole in her stomach and to replace her damaged heart valve.

Melissa going to admit to CHOC (Children hospital of Orange County) early morning today received her 18th surgery, it is call Tracheo Cutaneous Fistula - after Tracheostomy, will anesthesia and stitch her tracheal hole, please pray for her.
