Dear friends of TFC,

 

Merry Christmas to you and your family.  I'd like to update you on the following issues.

 

1.  Prop 8:  The appeal at the 9th Circuit Court has started.  Prop 8 lawyers made a brilliant approach to the case.  They argued that Judge Walker, being a closeted gay at the time of trial, might benefit from the outcome of the trial because he has a same sex partner.  His own ruling against Prop 8 showed a conflict of interest which is not allowed by law.  The lawyers also appealed to the court to keep the court videos sealed to protect the witnesses.  Please pray that God will act on the hearts of the 3 judges.

 

2.  Stop SB48:  Last time the effort failed because the total signatures collected were not enough to get qualified for a ballot.  Now, a coalition of pro-family groups joins force and try again.  Pacific Justice Institute heads up the campaign and they submitted the documents to apply for a ballot initiative.  The approval should come in Jan 2012 and we'll have 5 months to collect 500,000 valid signatures (last time we had only 3 months).  TFC joined in the coalition and I'd like you to inform your friends to prepare for the next battle.  When I get the signal, I'll inform you about the signature petition process.  Let's pray that we'll make it this time.

 

3.  Fundraising:  Donations came in responding to our call for support.  As of now, we are still $19,000 in deficit for this year.  I'd like to thank those who have helped.  If you have not decided, please give a little --- even $50 from each of you would help.  Online donations can be made here:
